The city of Shusha was chosen as the tourism capital of the Economic Cooperation Organization for 2026.
This decision is reflected in the Ardabil Declaration, adopted on the 7th Meeting of high-ranking tourism experts and the 5th meeting of Tourism Ministers on October 4-5 in Ardabil, Islamic Republic of Iran.
Discussions on the prospects for cooperation in the field of tourism were held between the members within the framework of the event, in which the delegation of the State Tourism Agency participated.
During the event the parties exchanged views on the measures to be taken to further strengthen mutual relations in the field of tourism sector.
Azerbaijan has been a member of the organization since 1992, which includes Azerbaijan, Turkey, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Afghanistan and Iran.
